I’d like to thank you for my beautiful piece of artwork, Time Heals. It means so much to me. You have such a beautiful way of expressing your soul and feelings. I love it!

Maria’s work sits above my piano, inspiring my own creativity. When I look at them, I feel her strength, her heart and I’m inspired to share mine too. Her works of self expression show a deep love for her family, a journey of great joys and painful devastation. This is her way of honouring herself and them in the most beautiful way.

The painting I bought hangs in my bedroom in Barcelona and receives the first morning light. It fits perfectly with all my other artwork which tend to be more monochrome in tone. Maria’s work stands out and immediately makes me feel joyful and optimistic, with Mediterranean elements of sky, sea and land. An abstract landscape that reminds me of the journey that I’m on.

Maria’s work is a vibrant celebration of rich texture, tone and colour, depicting the internal landscape of the soul with depth, honesty and exuberance. It is relentless optimism in the face of grief and challenges common to us all as human beings. A testament to the beauty that both surrounds us and resides within. I was drawn to this series of artwork by Maria Arroyave by their domains of raw, earthy and rich tones and textures that reflect the layers of depth in her pieces. I had originally planned to purchase one of her brighter artworks with uplifting primary blues yellows, reds and greens all hollering from different angles and layers of her compositions. But these just spoke to me and I simply couldn't walk away from them. The colours take me to rustic music bars in Barcelona and eating tapas and drinking Spanish red wine. I have hung them in my dining room above my drinks glasses cabinet to take me back to those emotive times and raw energy that pours out from the canvas. I can lose myself in these pieces for hours. The markings make these very inquisitive pieces with something more each time you study these compositions.

When I saw your painting, I was instantly drawn to it by its vibrant colours and intricate use of paint as a textural element. It spoke to me and evoked a sense of serenity and familiarity that just made sense as soon as you told me how you named it: “I Went to the Sea to Be Free”. I love the sea; I need the sea. I am the happiest when I am in the water and your beautiful painting transports me to my favourite places in the blue. The way you masterfully use colours and patterns brings emotions and feelings to my heart. I LOVE the piece and now it is proudly presiding in my living room, where I can see it every day, giving joy and peace to my soul. It's more than just art; it's like having a little piece of the ocean in my home and a window to my sea memories. Thank you for sharing your love and emotions through your art.

When I saw the painting for the first time, I was transported to a far away place. Like looking through a window onto a beautiful landscape. The usage of colour elevates that feeling on transportation. The magical thing is, the landscape could be anywhere where there is beauty, and every time I look at the painting, I travel somewhere else! Thank you for the travels!

It took me a while to choose one of Maria’s paintings, because I fell in love with so many. The one I chose is called ‘Planting Seeds’, and when I look at it everyday, just like new plants growing, I see something new. It gives me much joy.

Maria's paintings immediately inspired me to meditate. I chose one with blue and yellow tones from her Soul Enquiry series, which now sits on my desk. I look at it every day."

I’m so glad that I treated myself to one of Maria’s pieces. Whenever I look at the painting, I’m struck by the way she manages to combine such a variety of emotions with such accepting honesty. There is a lot of energy in the whole painting, and in each of its parts. They are a wild combination, for example some expressing great boldness and others a marvellous fragility, but all these aspects seem to commune as if by their own willingness to be together, in harmony. When I spend time with the piece, I find myself imagining a narrative of emotions of some kind, and each time the experience is different. But every time, without fail, I feel more connected to nature, more curious, and more hopeful.”
